Our newest acquisition! This signed, limited edition print arrived on our doorstep today:
The colors are perfect for our living room. Won't it look snazzy hanging on the yellow wall above our black baby grand piano? With the teal-gray tile around the fireplace picking up the color of the border? I think so! And Bob is excited to have something explicitly train-related adorning the walls. Now we just need to get it framed. Anyone want to weigh in on what kind of frame to go with?
If you're dying to get one of your own, you can order it from the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society.

style visionary
It seems woefully inappropriate to break my long silence with an off-topic post, but this was just too funny not to share. My sister sent this photo to me today in an email with the subject line, "You were a style visionary!"
The chick on the left is modeling an outfit from the Thakoon 2011 fall collection. The chick on the right (i.e., me) is modeling a "Mom bought these, but I put the outfit together all by myself!" ensemble, circa 1972.
Hope to start posting more *appropriate* entries again soon. A big, long-term consulting project I've been working on is coming to a close soon, so I hope to reinvest some of those energies back in the blog and in doing things like finally getting proper window treatments up in place of our temporary paper blinds upstairs. Stay tuned for what will perhaps be a flurry of window-related posts in the next month or so...
Hope everyone is well. Thanks for reading!
