A very quick post, as my hard drive died very suddenly yesterday afternoon and I'm using Bob's horrendous HP laptop (which is also on its last legs) to write this.
On my way out of the Apple Store, I briefly stopped into the nearby Crate & Barrel to comfort myself by browsing through their furniture and home decor selections. Shortly into my tour, I came across this stunning dining table from the Paloma collection. The wood tones and textures were so beautiful it stopped me in my tracks.
In my self-pitying state, I just wanted to find a blanket, curl up under the table, and stroke the ribbed wooden base.
Just kidding. Sort of. Macs aren't supposed to die suddenly at only a year old, are they? I have too much on my plate right now to be messing around with getting a new hard drive put in and then reinstalling all my software and files. Can you blame me for my weird escapist fantasies? (Although it could be much worse; almost all of my files were backed up, thanks to my Mozy subscription. And the computer is still under warranty.)
I also lingered over this Paloma sideboard while I was in the store...

These are really beautiful pieces...not fun to clean, I imagine! How do you make your choices when everything you're posting is so beautiful?
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about the cleaning, Lisa! And as to choosing: I must admit that much of what I post here is just eye candy. For instance, we already have a shaker-inspired cherry dining table from Harden that we love, and we'd have no room for this sideboard anywhere in our house. But it's fun to fantasize, no? :)
