cardboard paintings

I stumbled across the online portfolio of San Francisco artist Gavin Worth yesterday, and fell in love with his set of cardboard paintings. He works in several media -- including creating some great wire sculptures -- but these paintings are most definitely my favorites. I love the rough-hewn sculptural quality of them, as well as the contrast between the roughness of the "canvass" and the smooth, finely painted sections. And what a clever idea!
