Here are some images of their new Cooper collection, which just arrived in my email inbox yesterday. Notice the genius of that roughly textured barn-style door as a backdrop for the soft, sueded upholstery. And, in the second photo, the impact of that pottery display creating a visual fault line around which the rest of the room is balanced. (If you look closely, you'll see that the display is actually three of their metal spine wall shelves mounted ever-so-slightly askew.) The color palette, too, is wonderful -- warm yet soothing, while maintaining visual interest with the many different shades of cream, pale gold, pinkish browns, and wood tones. Sigh.

cooper collection from west elm
God, I love West Elm's stuff! The combination of clean, contemporary lines and naturalistic touches never fails to delight me.
