sofa selections and shout-out

I bumped into a couple of dear colleagues the other night at a reception, and they informed me that they are actually reading my blog. Like, regularly. Can I tell you what a great feeling that is? (If there are others of you lurking out there, this is the point at which you should feel free to reveal yourselves. Leave a comment, friends. I won't bite!)

And, Lindsey and Rachel, I always suspected you two were way cool. But now I know you are! ;)

Actually, the three of us had a great conversation about remodeling, do-it-yourself plumbing, etc., and together Lindsey and Rachel told the story -- sorry, saga -- of Rachel's quest for the perfect sofa. You wouldn't believe how many of them she welcomed and then subsequently kicked out of her home before finally settling on the one that was just right. (Lindsey and Rachel work together, and so Lindsey experienced the whole adventure, blow by blow, as it was unfolding.)

Perhaps one day soon I will persuade Rachel to author a guest post on lessons learned from her sofa search. But meanwhile, in honor of the two of them, I offer you this selection of interesting sofa shots courtesy of my latest discovery, Houzz.

  1. A few years ago, I fell in love with a bed I saw at Usona! Only problem was that it cost close to $14K!!! Love window shopping there, though. http://lisetta.wordpress.com/2008/08/31/honoring-the-visual/
